Carlin-Metz, Blackadder featured in International Voices Project

A play, “American Shot,” translated from French by Knox College theatre professor Neil Blackadder and directed by Knox College theatre professor Elizabeth Carlin-Metz was performed in a concert reading June 19 in Chicago, as part of the International Voices Project. The satirical play, titled in French “Le plan americain,” was written by Evelyne de la Cheneliare and Daniel Briere. It depicts tensions within a family where the parents are successful arts professionals, but their children are more interested in animal rights activism.

The reading was presented at Alliance Francaise de Chicago, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago and Alliance Francaise de Chicago. International Voices Project presents readings in collaboration with Consulates General and cultural institutions in Chicago. Read more…
