Renovated Hamblin Hall dedicated during Homecoming

Excerpt from WQAD TV-8:

At Knox College, it isn’t the same old dorm room any more. There’s a blend of tradition with innovations for its homecoming. A new way of living that’s designed for the future.

There are cheers and smiles Friday morning at Hamblin Hall’s dedication. Family, grads and students honor Adolph “Ziggy” Hamblin. He was a Knox College student-athlete who later directed the biology program at West Virginia State University and coached its football team to two national championships.

“In various colleges and universities, the athlete part seems to come first,” said Caroline Tucker, Hamblin’s daughter. “At Knox, the student part comes first.”

Knox College spent some $6.2 million on this extreme makeover.
