Excerpt from the Register-Mail:
The Knox College for Kids summer enrichment program is expanding this year to include younger children and an afternoon sports program, organizers say.
Normally offered as a morning classroom-style program in which children who have completed grades three through eight have access to more than 40 classes in art, music, theater, dance, literature, writing, history, mathematics, science and languages, the program will include those who have completed first and second grades this year.
“There were a number of parents in the community that had asked questions (about whether) there is anything for the younger kids,†said program co-director Jason Helfer. Organizers have “created the program with the best intentions of serving this younger population. We’re hoping that there will be an interested group of parents and their children that will take advantage of this.â€
