Lessons in Sustainability at College for Kids

Although summer break has begun, the Knox College campus will be bustling with students for the next week and a half. Around 200 kids are taking part in the annual Knox College for Kids program, a two-week summer program for high-achieving third- through eighth-graders from the area.

Classes range from Make a Movie, letting kids develop an idea, storyboard it, write, film and edit their own movie, to Crime Scene Investigation for Kids, teaching students about crime-solving techniques… In Garbology: The Study of Trash, visiting biology professor Paul Skrade aims to teach kids about sustainability, recycling and making good decisions about what goes in the trash… Read more…
