“Convergence of generosity” helps in building acquisition

Excerpt from the Peoria Journal-Star:

Acquisition and renovation of a new Knox College building have been helped by a $300,000 donation and a substantially discounted purchase price.

Alumnus Bob Borzello donated $300,000 to buy and renovate the former RFMS building at 115 E. South St. It will be named Borzello Hall in his honor.

The college purchased the building from Galesburg businessman Donald Fike at the end of 2007 at a substantial discount from its appraised value, constituting a gift to Knox of $150,000.

Borzello Hall will house the college’s journalism program, a classroom, offices for faculty in modern languages and history and Knox’s public relations office.
