DeVone Eurales of the Knox Admission Office and his family were interviewed about their volunteer community service over the Thanksgiving holiday:
Several volunteers at the Rescue Mission and Women’s Shelter made time during the holiday to lend a hand Thanksgiving afternoon, offering free meals to community members in need, serving up slices of turkey, mashed potatoes and other traditional dishes.
Many of those volunteers were relatives of Bishop Derek Eurales of Cairo, who has been staying in the area since Tuesday, volunteering his time at the mission.
Eurales came to the area to spend the holiday with his son DeVone Eurales but also to serve. “We just like helping,” Eurales said. “Our parents stressed to us the importance of helping less fortunate people.” Read more…
