Professor Andrew Civettini of Knox College’s Political Science Department said Republican voters must first think the state’s attorney race has more salience, or importance, than the other races. Second, they must overcome the personal conflict of identity of pulling the other party’s ballot. “It’s like your favorite football team makes the playoffs if your arch rival wins,” Civettini said.
