Knox College Soccer Trio Among National Statistical Leaders

Knox College has three soccer athletes listed in NCAA National Ranking Summary, two on the women’s squad and one member of the men’s team.

The Prairie Fire has two athletes ranked in the top 100 in the latest summary, which came out October 4th. Sophomore Emma Swanson (Des Moines, IA – Valley) is ranked 43rd in the nation with an average of 0.6 assists per game. Swanson has one goal, six assists and eight points in 10 matches for Knox.

Holding two ranking spots is first year Arielle Dorman (Bothell, WA – Inglemoor), who is 68th in Division III with an average of 2.1 points per game and 69th in D-III with an average of 0.9 goals per game. Dorman has nine goals, three assists and 21 points this season.

The NCAA Men’s Soccer National Ranking Summary – through September 27th – lists Knox College senior Lawrence Povoas (Brasilia, Brazil – American School of Brasilia) ranked 88th in goals per game with an average of 0.71. He is also ranked in points per game with 1.57, putting him 112th. Povoas has six goals, one assist and 13 points in nine games for the Prairie Fire.
