The Knox College women’s swim swim team took third in the 10-team Augustana Invitational last weekend.
The Prairie Fire were led by sophomore Bess Cooley, who finished the two-day meet with four individual first place finishes — the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.29), 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.87), 200 individual medley (2:18.07) and 400-yard individual medley (4:55.90).
She broke two of her own school records in the 100-yard breaststroke by more than a second (old record 1:10.98) and the 200-yard breaststroke by almost five seconds (old record 2:34.25).
Cooley, along with Tory Kassabaum and Rachel Clark, contributed on five relay teams that gave the Prairie Fire one first place, one second place and three third place finishes.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Cooley, Laura Blue, Kassabaum and Clark took first place set a school record with their time of 3:56.33.
