Free concert features Japanese lute music

The music group Toyoaki Shamisen will give a free, public concert of Japanese lute music at 3 p.m. April 11.

The concert, sponsored by the Knox College Japanese Club, will take place at Knox’s Kresge Recital Hall in the Ford Center for the Fine Arts.

Named after the shamisen, the Japanese three-stringed lute that the group plays, Toyoaki Shamisen consists of performers Tatsu Aoki and Amy Homma.
