Knox women pick up first win

The Knox College women’s basketball teams evened its record to 1-1 with a 79-40 win over Eureka College Thursday night.All five starters had eight points or more for the Prairie Fire and four scored in double digits. Sara Johnson led Knox with 15 points, Lynn Mueller had 12, Kelly Ricketts added 11 and Kristin McDonald finished with 10 points.
The Prairie Fire got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 41-15 lead at the half. They continued their strong play in the second, outscoring Eureka by 13 leading to a lofty 39-point victory.
Knox shot over 50 percent in the opening half and shot 47.8 percent for the game.
Khassandra Brown had a game-high 20 points for Eureka who moved to 0-1.
