Student art show kicks off Friday

Hope College’s juried art show is set to kick off Friday with an opening reception from 5 to 6 p.m. in the gallery of the De Pree Art Center.The competition is open to all students at Hope in which a guest artist is invited to judge students’ work.
This year’s juror is Mark Holmes, a 1983 alum who is a professor at Knox College in Illinois.
His recent achievements include solo exhibits at Dominican University in River Forest, Ill., and the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago, Ill.
Holmes will give his juror’s talk in the gallery on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
