Basketball coaches moving to new positions

Long-time men’s basketball coach Tim Heimann is moving to a position in Knox’s Advancement office. His successor will be second-year assistant coach Rob Purlee. The two coaches will work side by side this season to smooth the transition.

Knox College announced this morning that head basketball coach Tim Heimann will step down after 24 years at the end of this season.

Effective April 1, Heimann will join the Knox’s Advancement Office as a major gifts officer. In this role, he will visit alumni and donors, update them about Knox and encourage their financial support.

Former Monmouth College football and basketball standout and current Knox assistant Rob Purlee will take over for Heimann as head coach next season.
