Knox students interviewed at Santorum event

[Several Knox students and supporters of Rick Santorum] occupied opposite sides of Seminary Street during Monday evening’s wait for Republican presidential nomination hopeful Rick Santorum. Tommy Dastamanis came to support Santorum and sell campaign buttons. He carried a billboard filled with images of the presidential hopeful and worked the Chez Willy’s side of the brick street…

On the other side of the bricks, on the sidewalk in front of The Landmark and Kohl’s Diamond Gallery, a pair of 20-year-old Knox College students staked out a different kind of territory. Kate Haslem carried a sign that read “Men of Quality Respect Women’s Equality.” She found the slogan online. Sterling Kowalski’s placard was stark by comparison.
