College for Kids draws 260 youngsters

Students and teachers felt they had learned a great deal as Knox College for Kids adjourned its first of two weeks of classes Friday… “It helps the kids because they get the opportunity to pick their own classes,” Helfer said. “They get exposure to what college is like and what they can look forward to in their own future.”

“Our success is due to the teachers,” Schroth said. “The [Knox College students who work as] REACH Fellows are an important element. They teach their own classes, make sure the kids arrive and depart safely, and get prepared for teaching out in the community.”
