The Galesburg Civic Art Center presents an exhibition of works by Rich Ankeney of Galesburg, and Marianne Vick of Chicago. The exhibition will be on display Friday, Feb. 3 through March 3 in the Galesburg Civic Art Center’s exhibition gallery. An opening reception will take place on Friday, Feb. 3 from 6-8pm. The reception is free and open to the public. Rich Ankeny’s Car Show includes images taken around Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin and is inspired by Ankeney’s interest in using current technologies to create photographs with a historical and perhaps nostalgic aspect. Marianne Vick is a self-taught artist who has developed her detailed, realistic style of painting and for the past 10 years the focus of her paintings has shifted from representational wildlife painting to allegorical pictorials featuring birds and their various characteristics as stand-ins for our unique human conditions. For more information, contact the Galesburg Civic Art Center at 114 E. Main Street, (309) 342-7415.
