Knox Choir to Perform, Feb. 26

Preparing for its upcoming performance tour to Barcelona, Spain, the Knox Choir will perform at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, February 26, in First Lutheran Church, Galesburg. The concert is free and open to the public.
The 53-member choir, conducted by Laura Lane, (music) will perform works by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Tomas Luis de Victoria, and Felix Mendelssohn, as well as a composition by one of the choir members, Edward Davis, a music and English literature major from Chicago. Several selections were chosen specifically for the performances in Barcelona during Knox’s spring break, March 11-20. The Choir will present its home tour concert on the Knox campus on March 23.

Muelder to Give Talk at Galesburg Public Library, Feb. 28

On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m., Owen Muelder, director of the Galesburg Colony Underground Railroad Freedom Station at Knox College, will host a talk on his book, Theodore Dwight Weld and the American Anti-Slavery Society, in conjunction with Black History Month. The talk will be held at the Galesburg Public Library and will be followed by a book signing.
