It’s Sumo++ Time!

It’s Sumo++ time!
It’s time for the 10th Annual Sumo Robot Competition! You thought you knew what the Sumo Robot Competition was all about? WRONG!! This year it’s Sumo++.  We’re taking Sumo Robot Wrestling to another new level! This year we have TWO Sumo competitions:
The TIMED Sumo Challenge:  In Sumo++ you’ll build and program a robot from a Lego Mindstorms kit and your robot will try to find, pick up a weighted target and drop it out of a circular contest ring (well, OK, it’s a beer can with sand in it). Your robot will have to find the target, pick it up and then take it out of the ring, recognize when it gets to the edge of the ring, and stop.  But that’s not all!! You have to do it in the shortest amount of time! So Fast is better….
Sumo++ Wrestling:  We’re going back to our traditional Sumo Robot Wrestling challenge as well. Two Robots, one ring, three minutes. Only one survivor!!
You may enter one or both competitions (but you can’t change your robot between competitions. Oops!)
The competition will be Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 4 p.m. in the Francois Classroom (E-117) in SMC.
The official rules of the contest are at
