Computer Science faculty and two computer science majors recently returned from the 43rd ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education, the largest conference for CS educators. Hanna Fidoten ’12 presented her poster “Do Faculty Recognize the Difference Between Computer Science and Information Technology? A Survey of Liberal Arts Faculty,” created with Jaime Spacco. Casey Samoore ’12 presented his poster “Teaching parallel computing with higher-level languages and compelling examples,” created with Sung Joo Lee ’12, Johnathan Ebbers ’13, David Bunde, and collaborators at Lewis and Clark College. Bunde also contributed to a panel “A Stratified View of Programming Language Parallelism for Undergraduate CS Education.” John Dooley was a member of the conference committee and chaired a session.
