Student journalists are invited to submit their best feature and investigative stories for the Kimble and Tarbell Prizes in Journalism. The Theodore Hazen Kimble Prize is awarded for the best feature story published in The Knox Student between Spring Term 2011 and Winter Term 2012. Eligible stories can be feature stories on any topic. Hard news stories, editorials and reviews are not eligible. The Ida M. Tarbell Prize for Investigative Journalism is awarded to the best investigative news story written by a Knox student and published in any medium between Spring Term 2011 and Winter Term 2012. Eligible stories must be bona fide investigative news, based on substantial research and reporting beyond the interviewing of official sources. In addition, successful stories will exhibit critical thinking in the careful assessment of evidence and penetrating analysis of the complexities of the situation being reported.
