This year Alpha Phi Omega brings to you its annual fundraiser the Run-A-Thon. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Knox County Child Advocacy Center in hopes of bettering the lives of the children there and presenting them with new opportunities. The Knox County Child Advocacy Center is an agency that provides services to abused and neglected children who lack most of the opportunities we take for granted in our day to day lives.
The event will be held on May 18-19, beginning on the outdoor track and moving into the T. Fleming Fieldhouse. APO would appreciate it if Faculty and Staff could attend this event and it would be even more exciting if you could organize yourselves into various teams and sign up for the run (for instance Team Old Main, Team SMC or Team GDH to say a few). The theme of the event this year is “A Blast From the Past.” Run dressed in some retro gear or whatever you feel comfortable running in. It costs $8 per person registered within a team. If, however, you are not able to make a team we would still greatly appreciate your turnout and whatever form of donations you see fit to give us for the event. Invite your family and friends from the community to participate as well. There will be lots and lots of fun activities going on for children and adults alike.
Sign-ups will be held in the Seymour Gallery during lunch and dinner hours until Friday, May 18.
