Under Construction was inspired by the Norman Rockwell covers on the Saturday Evening Posts during the 1950s and the installation artwork of Jason Rhoades in the early 21st century. The play is a collage of America (both then and now) that compares Frank Sinatra’s crooning, Ann Bannon’s pulp fiction, and Allen Ginsberg’s beat poetry to contemporary rock music, alternative images of sexuality, and a variety of icons from popular culture. We invite you to join us as we weave together multiple stories to build a landscape of America and its many possibilities.
Featuring student actors Sam Auch, Kathleen Donoghue, Jack Dryden, Chloë Luetkemeyer, Isaac Miller, Nellie Ognacevic, Neil Phelps, Andrew Purvis, and Avery Wigglesworth.
Tickets are free for all in the Knox Community / $10 for Adults / $5 for Seniors and Alumni. Seating is limited.
Tickets are available at the door an hour prior to each performance or by advanced reservation by calling 309.341.7472
