Into the Woods to be performed at the Orpheum, Nov. 2-4

Carl Sandburg College and The Orpheum Theatre team up to present Into the Woods, a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine.

This Magical musical takes audiences back to when they open a book and start with those famous words “Once Upon A Time.” Into the Woods is a musical that intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales including Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel, and many more. The musical explores the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. The musical is tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife and their journey to begin a family, and their interaction with a Witch and her curse upon them.

Performances at the Orpheum Theatre are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2-3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and $16 for mezzanine seating and are on sale now by calling the Orpheum Box Office, 309-342-2299.
