There will be a small benediction (a poem on Tundun Lawani by Professor Hord.) Also, Harambee Club will sponsor a panel/discussion titled, “Consciousness of the African Identity in American Society,” and a tribute performance will be given by Lo Nuestro.
Saturday, Nov. 10
Lincoln, Skylight, Oak Rooms, Seymour Union
As part of African Week, Harambee Club will host a dinner and Cultural show in the Lincoln, Skylight, and Oak Rooms from 6-9 p.m.
• From 6:00-7:30 p.m. an African Week Banquet will take place, where there will be a tribute video of Tundun Lawani.
• From 7:30-9:00 p.m. there will be an African Cultural Show consisting of a Flag and Country Presentation and a small play titled, Wisdom, which is written from, and based on, a traditional African tale. There will also be an African Fashion Show, a tribute to Tundun from her dance at International Fair (I-Fair), and finally the dance.
• A vigil for Tundun is planned to take place after these events, with more details to come. Tri Delta is assisting Harambee Club with the organization of the vigil.
