On Dec. 7 and 8, en season and Coffee Bean Theatre offer an evening of dinner and music with their production of A Night of “The Standards” and Christmas.
Directed by Doug Alderman, this evening of “The Standards” will include 14 great “Standard” songs in Act 1, including; “What’ll I Do?”, “The Man That Got Away”, “Moon Dance”, “Stormy Weather”, “Just in Time”, “Over the Rainbow”, and “A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square”. Act 2 will include 8 great “Standard” Christmas songs including; “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, “The Christmas Song”, “Zat You? Santy Claus?”, “Santa Baby”, and “Baby It’s Cold Outside”. Missy Roberts will accompany on keyboard, Joanne Scott (Scott Center of Dance) will provide some of the choreography, and comic transitions between the songs will top off the night.
The cast includes local favorites: Chris Curtis, Doug Alderman, Robert Thompson Jr., Donna Benjamin, Matt Newman, Samantha Carr, April Newman, Missy Roberts, and Joanne Scott.
A Night of “The Standards” and Christmas will be presented as a dinner theatre performance at en season, in the Sustainable Business Center, 2900 West Main Street, Galesburg, IL. It plays December 7 and 8. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for dinner with performances starting at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $30, and include dinner and show. Tickets can be purchased by calling (309)343-0736.
