The Knox-Galesburg Symphony will present “First Chairs Forward”, featuring KGS principal clarinet Eric Ginsberg, KGS principal cello Carolyn Suda, and KGS artistic director/conductor Bruce Polay, piano. The performance is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 2 in the Ford Center for Fine Arts’ Kresge Recital Hall. At intermission, Bruce Polay will be available for autograph signing of the KGS’ “Golden” and “Diamond Edition” CDs.

Poulenc’s Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Kabalevsky’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in B-flat Major, Opus 71, Bernstein’s Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Tajcevic’s “Seven Balkan Dances” for Clarinet, Violoncello and Piano and Polay’s world premiere of “Fast” will be performed at the recital.

General admission tickets are $12.00 and are available at the Orpheum Theatre Ticket Office (309-342-2299), 250 East Main St., Galesburg or at the door. Children and students are half-price.

On Saturday, February 10 at 3:00 p.m., “First Chairs Forward” will perform a recital at The Bistro, 101 W. Main Street in Toulon, IL. Tickets will be available at the door.
