You are invited to participate in the events planned to celebrate Earth Month during the entire month of April. There are concerts, lectures, films, workshops, volunteer opportunities, and community events that provide many ways for you to get involved. The month will end with a true Earth Day celebration organized by Knox Advocates for Recycling & Environmental Sustainability (KARES) featuring the Great American Cleanup as part of a day of service and the first-ever Galesburg Earth Day Festival ending with a Spring EquiKnox Lecture/Concert by Ben Sollee on Saturday, April 27.

Earth Day has helped bring attention to issues of environmental concern for more than 40 years. Knox College has actively observed Earth Day through a variety of activities and educational opportunities. This year, we have made an effort to extend our focus on the important issues of social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic vitality by planning events throughout the month.
