Galesburg Public Library to host Local Author Fair

From the Galesburg Public Library:

Galesburg Public Library will host a Local Author Fair on Saturday, November 15,
from 2:00-4:00 PM. The fair will feature published authors with ties to Galesburg
and surrounding communities. Participating authors will be available to chat with
readers and to sell and sign copies of their books.

Young Author novelist Lindsay Currie will open the fair at 2:00 PM with a keynote
presentation. Currie, a Galesburg native, joins us from Chicago to celebrate
the launch of her debut YA horror novel Creed. An atmospheric thriller for teens, Creed has been called “suspenseful” by Publishers Weekly.

Following the keynote, Currie will participate in a panel discussion along with
bestselling novelist Robert Hellenga and award-winning short fiction writer Chad
Simpson. Robert Hellenga is a professor at Knox College and the author of
seven novels. His most recent book is The Confessions of Frances Godwin. Chad
Simpson, also a Knox College professor, is the winner of the 2012 John Simmons
Short Fiction Award for his book Tell Everyone I Said Hi.

Other local authors who will be selling and signing copies of their books at the
event include Jim Conover, Jannifer Powelson, LeAnn Morgan, Ted Morrissey,
Sylvia Shults, and Ellen Vanda. The Local Author Fair is free and open to
the public. Doors open at 1:45 PM. Those wishing to purchase books are
encouraged to bring cash, as individual authors may not be equipped to accept
credit card payments. Please contact the Reference Desk at 309-343-6118 with
any questions about the Fair.
