The Galesburg Symphony Society will present its 14th annual Winter Gala at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg. The benefit includes a silent auction, official casino games, raffle and cash bar with The Bob Clark Quartet providing live entertainment. This year a quartet of KGS string musicians will also perform. Hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be served from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This year’s silent auction will offer an assortment of items from area businesses and organizations ranging in values from $25 to more than $1,000, and will consist of a wide spectrum of merchandise and services including Casino packages, memorabilia, collectibles, floral arrangements, jewelry, specialty items, auto services, household merchandise, apparel, memberships, restaurant meals, sports activities, gift baskets and MORE!
The “official” casino games will include Craps, Texas Hold’em, and Blackjack. Pitch and Roulette have been added to the Casino this year. Throughout the evening, patrons are invited to kick up their heels to music by the Bob Clark Quartet featuring Bob Clark on clarinet, tenor saxophone, and flute with Steve Jackson on string bass, David Sherrard on drums, and Dennis Stremmel on piano.
Admission at $30 per person includes admittance to the casino, auction, dance, hors d’oeuvres, ten dollars ($10) in gambling chips and the entertainment. Additional gambling chips are available for purchase. Valet parking will be available.
Tickets may be purchased at Galesburg’s Orpheum Theatre, 57 South Kellogg Street and online at KnoxGalesburgSymphony.org. While supply lasts, tickets will be available at the door which opens at 6:30 p.m. Those planning to attend are urged to purchase tickets in advance as admission is limited due to capacity restrictions. Must be 21 to attend.
