Culture of Respect: Education and Training on Discrimination and Harassment

Dear Knox Community,

Since our founding, Knox has been committed to a safe and respectful campus for every member of our community. We take great pride in the fact that our community is made up of individuals with diverse identities and who come from many different cultures and backgrounds, and we remain committed to working collaboratively to foster a culture of respect on our campus. We also believe that a respectful and safe learning community is a shared responsibility. As a member of our community, it is important that we receive ongoing training that helps us better steward this culture and maintains our compliance with federal and state laws.

Over the next two weeks, we are offering a series of training and educational sessions for faculty and staff on discrimination and harassment. You are invited to one of two available sessions, which will all be held in the Trustee Rooms (Room 302) in Alumni Hall. Light refreshments will be provided. Each session is expected to last about 70 minutes and will allow time for questions. Please join us at one of the following sessions:

Wednesday, May 17 at 12:00 pm
Tuesday, May 23 at 4:00 pm

Sponsored by the Offices of Human Resources and Title IX, Crystal Bohm and Kim Schrader will present information about applicable laws and required employee training compliance, reporting protocol, protected classes and relevant policy definitions, confidentiality, response support and resources, and investigation and resolution procedures. We are expecting as many employees as possible to attend one of these sessions. For those who have not yet completed the mandatory discrimination and harassment online training provided by United Educators, attending one of these sessions will fulfill that requirement. Printed materials and other resources will also be available.
