Hellenga/Cross Among Literary Honorees

On October 11, Vida Cross ’88 and Robert Hellenga (emeritus) were among eighty “authors and creative people with ties to Chicago” honored at the Carl Sandburg Literary Awards Dinner (a benefit dinner for the Chicago Public Library). Honorees were toasted by the mayor and the governor, Natalie Y. Moore received the 21st Century Literary Award for her book South Side, and Dave Eggers and Margaret Atwood were interviewed by NPR’s Scott Simon.
