Gina Franco (English) has been invited to teach a week-long poetry workshop and to give a reading and presentation of her work in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with Image Journal’s Glen Workshop, July 29- August 5, 2018.

Chiricú Journal: Latina/o Literatures, Arts, and Cultures solicited and published seven sections from Gina Franco’s book-length poem, Throne. The first four sections were reprinted with permission from the Los Angeles Review; the final three sections appear in print for the first time. All are available to view in the print journal, or soon, free to anyone, at Project MUSE.

Tooley Presented at Conference

Brenda Tooley (Global Studies) presented “Ethical Considerations in the Admission and Support of Refugee Students” at the NAFSA Annual Conference 2018, in Philadelphia, PA with co-presenters Nele Feldman, Project Director, IIE Platform for Education in Emergency Response (PEER) and Melissa Abache, Global Engagement Manager, Koc University, Turkey.

Kasser was Speaker in Montreal

Tim Kasser (Psychology) recently was an invited speaker at the 29th International Congress of Applied Psychology in Montreal, Quebec, where he gave a “state of the art” lecture on “The Human Value System: Fundamentals and Applications.”
