Gradone Musical Work Published

A recent musical work by Pierce Gradone (Music) has been published by Fat Rock Ink. The piece, entitled The Watching, is scored for alto flute, viola, and harp, and is inspired by a particular sleeping pattern practiced during the 18th and 19th centuries in which a night’s sleep was interrupted by a time of quiet reflection called “the watching.” The Watching was also awarded the Costello Prize by the Philadelphia Lyra Society and premiered at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
