James H. Thrall (Religious Studies) attended the biennial conference of the International Society for Religion, Literature, and Culture (ISRLC) in Uppsala, Sweden, where he presented a paper titled “Modern Mythology and the Tricky Gods of Neil Gaiman.” Thrall’s paper explored questions Gaiman’s novel American Gods raises about the religious studies concept of “myth” and its relationship to truth and falsehood. The conference theme was “The Place of Truth.”
