Earlier this summer, Professor of Music Laura Lane taught a clinic at the Illinois American Choral Directors Association called “Vocal warmups for the body, mind and soul,” in Normal Illinois. She also recently led a workshop with a professional choir, Common Pulse, in Wicker Park. This Chicago choir was founded by Lydia Lane Stout and is affiliated with Justice Choir Chicago.
Robin Ragan read her short story “Honduras 2019” based on her time at the Texas/Mexico border. She participated in a literary and musical showcase called TASTET SINESTÈSTIC D’ESTIU in Masnou (Barcelona) along with authors Isabel Verdu, Franco Chiaravalloti, and Oscar Sotillos on July 13, 2019.

Co-authors were researchers at Louisiana State University.
Frank McAndrew, Cornelia H. Dudley Professor of Psychology, has just published a chapter titled “Gossip as a Social Skill” in The Oxford Handbook of Gossip and Reputation (Oxford University Press). The editors of this book are Francesca Giardini & Rafael Wittek of Groningen University in the Netherlands. The chapter is now available online and will be available in print in August.
An article by Jennifer McCarthy Foubert, assistant professor of education studies, “‘Damned if you do, damned if you don’t:’ Black parents’ racial realist school engagement,” was published in the journal Race Ethnicity and Education.
