Kasandara Sullivan ’13 won second prize in the Student Research Symposium for her talk “Pretransitional Optical Rotation in Liquid Crystals,” presenting her research project with professor Tom Moses. Sullivan’s talk was given March 1 at the Illinois Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers meeting at Western Illinois University.
Monica Berlin (English) presented at the “Louisville Conference on Literature and Culture Since 1900″ alongside her collaborator, Beth Marzoni ’04. The pair gave a formal reading, selections from “Dear So & So,” and discussed the nature of collaboration in both writing and teaching at the 40th anniversary of this annual conference.
