International Student Scholarship Information

The Pilot Club of Galesburg is presently taking applications for scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year.
The Ruby Newhall Memorial Scholarships are for qualified students from outside the United States or Canada attending an accredited college or university. The field of study must be of a nature that it improves the quality of life for the community in their home country, and the student must plan to return to his/her country within six months of completing studies. The Ruby Newhall Scholarship may not exceed $1,500, and the student must have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Scholarship Opportunities

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship: In the spring of 2012, the Foundation will award scholarships to students who will be college juniors or seniors during the 2012-2013 academic year. All 2012 nominations must be received by Dean Haslem before 4 p.m., January 26, 2012.  For a full description, go to www.act.org /goldwater.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation: The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Arts Award recognizes and rewards America’s promising up-and-coming artists from lower-income backgrounds with the nation’s leading graduate scholarships in the visual arts, performing arts, and creative writing. Knox can nominate up to two students. For further information contact Dean Haslem.

GWU: Competitive students (sophomores) for the program must demonstrate high academic achievement in both science and non-science curricula.  Applicants are required to complete a minimum of six terms of premedical science courses by the end of their sixth term.  Applicants must also achieve a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA and receive no science grade lower than a B- by the end of their sixth term.  Transfer credit and AP credit will be reviewed on a case-by-c a se basis, for it is expected the applicant to have spent two years at Knox and to have completed a minimum of 18 credits by the end of the term during which they apply.

W-2 Form Information

W-2 Forms for 2011 will be mailed to home/permanent addresses in late January. If you prefer to have your W-2 form sent to your Knox Box rather than your home address you will need to stop by the Business Office in Rm. 106 of Old Main by Wednesday, January 18, and complete a form.
