New Accessibility Ramp at Ingersoll House

Workers make improvements at Ingersoll House.

Work crews today are installing a new accessibility ramp at Ingersoll House, the traditional home of Knox College’s president.

The home, located on Prairie and Losey streets, was dedicated formally as Ingersoll House in 1999. At that time, 20 members of the Ingersoll family had attended Knox as students, and three had served as Trustees of the College.

In addition to the ramp, workers also are installing a new downspout system to divert rainwater from the gutters into the ground, instead of the lawn’s surface.
