Window glass at Old Main was removed this summer so trim can be painted. The large, arched windows were designed by architect Charles Ulricson to make the building a “belvedere” — with commanding views in 1858 of the prairie to the south and the expanding town of Galesburg to the north. More about Old Main, its windows and other mysteries, is revealed in the book Chapel in the Sky.
