Director of Facilities Services Scott Maust and other facilities services workers were out Tuesday morning forming one of the new gutters along Berrien Street. The gutters replace old railroad ties and will allow for better drainage on Berrien Street. After the gutters are in place the road will be resurfaced and access should return through Berrien and Cherry Streets by the end of next week. (Left: Maust shovels in some concrete on a new gutter on Berrien Street.)
For Maust, getting his hands dirty with some concrete is nothing new. Last summer he helped pour the concrete pathway just north of Seymour Union and has 13 years of experience on a road construction crew in the Midwest. (Right: Maust uses a trowel to shape a gutter on Berrien Street.)
