Renovation Replaces Doors

Renovation continues at Knox College’s historic Alumni Hall. New doors are being installed at all four corners, after the stone-flanked steps and porches were rebuilt. An architect’s drawing from prior to construction in 1890, below, shows at most six steps up to the corner doors, rather than the present ten. After the plans were drawn, trustees ordered the building raised several feet, so the basement would be taller.
