  • Chemical Abstracts is available to Knox faculty, students & staff through STN on the Web. Please contact a reference librarian to use this database.
  • MEDLINE, the National Library of Medicine’s database, is searchable over the web through FirstSearch.
  • ACS Journals - The American Chemical Society hosts a free searchable index of all of their journals. Use this to find articles, but not to get the full text. Once you have the citations you want, then search the library catalog and the EJournals list to find our subscriptions. Use Interlibrary loan for those we do not have.
  • ChemFinder - ChemFinder is a database listing the basic chemical properties of compounds. You can search by compound name or molecular formula. For most substances it will provide a structure, molecular formula, boiling & melting points, atomic weight, and other basic property information.
